Once Upon a Fashion Tale

Once Upon a Fashion Tale there was a lovely lady named Jadelin, who approached me...

She had bright thoughts and high hopes to start her very own brand and wanted to do a shoot. She asked me if I could step in and make her vision come together, without a fairy god mother I was sceptical; but in the end I pulled it off with my ever ready glam team.

My job began with scouting for beautiful dresses that could tie in with Jadelin's company. The Shop No. 2 is a bridal hair accessories and party favour brand that she has just recently launched at a wedding expo that took place this weekend. She has also just recently launched her brand online. Click on the link below to see all the exquisite bridal accessories she sells: Shop No.2

I managed to scout dresses from talents like Vesselina Pentcheva and Jacelyn of White Lilly Bridal.

White Lilly Bridal is a quaint dress boutique located in Parkhurst. Jacelyn has got to be one of the warmest people I've ever met and her wedding gowns are stunning too. She welcomed me with open arms as I explained the tale I'd like to tell and helped me make it come to life in the shots we took. The same can be said about Vesselina who is based in Parktown North, not only does she have exquisite dresses but she has a whimsical garden setting at the entrance of her boutique which "ta-daah" ended up being our shoot location! Both designers will see to your every need to get you your perfect gown and if I didn't have a fairy god mother when the story began, I had two now.

We spent an entire day with hair by Raeesa Ebrahim and make up by Raeesah Randeree kick starting the morning of the shoot. When it comes to these two ladies I can literally count on them for anything as Raeesa can copy a hairstyle from any image or make a completely new one that she thought up on the spot.

Raeesah on the other hand has tons of experience in the make up industry and is such a blast of fun and creativity to work with, she always amazes me when I look in the mirror after she's done my make up.

The finishing touches of course were done by Layla Shaik Photography and well the images she shot are what ultimately tell the tale.

Chiara Ferragni Shoes:

One of the fashion bloggers that I really admire is Chiara Ferragni. She not only blogs, but is also a talented business woman and has a business called "The Blonde Salad". Her shoe and accessories range are the stuff of dreams!

Her shoes are both quirky and unique incorporating emojis and glitter in a tasteful way. For this shoot I was privileged enough to get to wear one of the shoes from her collection, a huge thanks to Catheryne Gaeler Fashion Boutique.

Catheryne Gaeyla Fashion is a 1 000m2 luxury multi-brand concept store set in a hôtel particulier, in the heart of the prestigious Hyde Park suburb, Johannesburg. Upon your arrival to this fabulous residence, you are instantly submerged in the beauty of Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Balmain, Ermanno Scervino, Maison Ullens, Kenzo, brands which don’t need much to show themselves off.

To see more have a look at their Instagram page. To see a wider variety of the Chiara shoes go to the Chiara Ferragni Collection Instagram page.

One day I aspire to have one of each pair of the Chiara shoes along with my own shoe brand. Watch this space.

River Island Sandton

Many international trendy brands have come into the South African market over the last few years, an all new popular brand that I'm quite fond of is River Island!

What's more exciting is that they have started launching new stores around the city. The launch of the Sandton store happened last week and the unique thing about it is that they have now launched a kids range in SA! I love kids and when they're dressed cutely it makes me melt even more. The best part about their kids range was finding mini version's of things that I'd actually want for myself because let's face It anything in a small size looks extra cute. For instance take a look at these mini peep toe cut out boots:

They had everything from little trench coats to mini frilly socks. I was blown away. If you have a little one of your own or a small someone in your family that you're fond of, the new River Island kids range should be your first go to. It's time to spoil them.

The adult section impressed with asymmetrical silhouettes and seventies revival trends coming off as must have's of the moment.

Me in the socks department having some fun (I'm a little sock obsessed as you can see on my Instagram account.)

The event took place on a Wednesday evening and after a long day of campus, "what to wear?" was the last thing on my mind. I decided at the last minute to reinvent one of my Pengelly wrap dresses as a skirt by folding the sleeves in. This made it a bit more casual, I wore it with a basic Mr Price tee (that I found in the menswear section).

On a side note, before the end of the night we stopped at the new Benefit make up department in Edgars Sandton. Their products are packaged just as cutely as the background in the image and lets just say that the packaging is not the only good thing about their products. They are inexpensive compared to the higher end make up brands and have a wide variety of make up items that you'll want to add to you collection immediately!

A Relaxing Afternoon in Cotton On's "Must Haves":

I've come to realise that sometimes it's okay to let your hair loose. Actually it's okay to let your hair loose whenever you want to. This is something I don't do much, surprisingly so.

Thanks to all my followers my blog has become quite a success and something that I'm very proud of but with success comes tons of work! With each blog post I do there's a ton of background admin like organising hair, make up and photography to suit everyone's schedule. Thankfully over the past few weeks I've been blessed with the ultimate glam team (Layla Shaik Photography, Hair By Raeesa E and Make Up By Raeesah R)who have gone out of there where to help me beautify my vision of what I want my blog to look like for my readers.

A week in the life of me involves getting all the administration done for blog shoots, finding the perfect location and clothing to shoot with, writing good content people will enjoy while at the same time juggling fashion school as well as cooking and looking after my hubby. I've now also started taking on private jobs to help brands launch their companies and products(something I'm super excited to show you all!)

This shoot was more relaxed and focused on basic must have items from Cotton On that can be found in stores now. Everyone has to have the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans and these ones are so comfortable that you probably won't want to take them off! Another must have at the moment is this knitted High neck top that's available in several colours. The Grey one was my favourite.

Every girl should have a classic black heel, try these strappy heels for a classic and easy to wear look.

This looks was easy going , fun to shoot and made me come to the decision that I will now focus on finding time to relax in between the fashion storm.
